US reality television star and businesswoman Kylie Jenner has purportedly lost hundreds of thousands of followers on the popular photo and video sharing app Instagram in a matter of days after sharing a post in support of Israel.

Jenner, one of Instagram’s most-followed users, shared a post in solidarity with Israel on Instagram’s Stories feature on Saturday as Hamas fighters launched a surprise attack on Israel from Gaza by firing a barrage of rockets and crossing into Israeli territory.

The 26-year-old received a barrage of criticism for the post, with respondents asking where her support for Palestinians killed in the drastic escalation of fighting or under decades of Israeli occupation was. Jenner appeared to delete the story post a few hours after sharing it.

Jenner’s follower count has reportedly since seen a small but noticeable dip, from 400 million to 399 million as of Tuesday afternoon.

About 800 Palestinians and 900 Israelis have been killed since the surprise attack by Hamas fighters was launched Saturday. Thousands of others have been critically injured.

Israel has relentless bombed the densely populated Gaza Strip since Saturday. Officials in Gaza say that the vast majority of Palestinians killed in the strikes have been civilians. Hamas is continuing to fire rockets at Israel from the Gaza Strip, and is holding some 150 Israelis hostage.

Jenner also suffered a dent in her Instagram follower count earlier this year, when users believed she had waded into the feud between Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez.
