Here’s your Tuesday evening forecast for August 15, 2023 from Minnesota’s Weather Authority and Meteorologist Wren Clair.
Good evening! I hope you were able to get outside and enjoy this comfortable summer day! Temperatures tonight are warmer than last night by about ten degrees, with lows in the mid-60s for the metro. Highs tomorrow are back in the upper-80s with increasing humidity through the day.
Your Wednesday forecast is a windy one. Sustained winds out of the southwest tomorrow are up to about 30 mph, with wind gusts closer to 45 mph.
A cold front moving in from our northwest tomorrow, will bring the risk for strong to severe evening thunderstorms. While a few storms could develop late afternoon across northwestern Minnesota, the greatest risk for severe t’storms, is mainly after 6 PM and before 10 PM. Damaging winds and large hail are the main threats.
While the Twin Cities could see isolated severe storms, the greatest risk for severe weather looks to stay north and east of the metro area. Still, please be ready for some strong storms tomorrow night. Winds out of the northwest behind the cold front, lead to a cooler Thursday forecast. However, dangerous heat and humidity return this weekend through the middle of next week with another heat wave. Heat index values will be near 100° over the weekend through Wednesday of next week.
