FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Temps are cooler Wednesday and Thursday

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Instead of breaking records expect highs in the low 90s Wednesday.

After our storms move east tonight our temperatures cool off a little, no more upper 70s, but lower 70s for the early morning hours. Expect partly cloudy skies.

Highs are in the low 90s behind the front for Wednesday. Expect partly cloudy skies and a 20% chance of some late afternoon storms. The chance of thunder goes up to 30% during the evening hours. Lows are in the low 70s.

Thursday has a 20% chance of some isolated storms. Highs are in the low 90s with partly cloudy skies as high pressure builds over the region.

Friday we have sunny skies with highs in the mid 90s. Dry air comes in from the northeast and will bring a refreshing relief from the humid weather. It will be brief though!

Saturday also looks to be dry with highs near 96. Expect partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies.

There’s a 20% chance of some showers and storms Sunday afternoon as the humidity increases for the region. Expect low 90s for high temps.

In the tropics we have 2 systems we’re watching. The one in the central Atlantic has a 30% chance of developing in the next 7 days. The one off the coast of Africa also has a 30% chance of development in the next 7 days.

Tonight: Storms move out tonight with lows near 72 and skies are partly cloudy.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy skies. A few p.m. storms are possible at a 20% shot. High temps fall back closer to 92 degrees.

Thursday: Mix of clouds and sunshine. Showers and storms are possible for a few of us in the afternoon (20%). Highs in the low-90s.

Friday: Mostly sunny and less humid with highs in the mid 90s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny and hot with highs in the mid 90s.

Sunday: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of afternoon storms. Highs are near 93.

Monday: Mid 90s with mostly sunny skies.
